Issue:

Bluewater Bio has been selected to provide its FilterClear high rate multi-media filtration technology for the removal of phosphorus at a sewage treatment plant of the UK’s Severn Trent Water, in a project to allow the site to meet a new consent limit of 0.5mg/l for phosphorus under the EU Water Framework Directive.

The contract for the installation at Severn Trent Water’s Codsall sewage treatment plant in Staffordshire is Bluewater Bio’s second phosphorus removal win in the past year, and the company says FilterClear is currently being assessed by Yorkshire Water at its Bolsover sewage treatment plant as part of the UK’s National Chemical Investigation Programme.
