Work scheduled for completion in August is underway to build the 1.4 million cubic metre per day water treatment system for the new Legoland Water Park in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The water park is part of Dubai Parks and Resorts, an AED 10.5 billion development opposite the Palm Jebel Ali that is due to open in October and will feature three theme parks.

The water park will include over 15 water slides, a Lego wave pool, a Build-A-Raft-River and a Duplo Splash Safari toddler play area.

Led by main contractor ARCO General Contracting, the water park treatment system is being delivered by ACWA Emirates, part of the ACWA Group. It includes mechanical strainers and special regenerative media filters which can remove particles down to one micron in size and require no backwash.
