The NuReSys system is focused on the removal of phosphate struvite, which impacts maintenance and downtime requirements in municipal sewage and industrial wastewater situations, but providing also for struvite recovery as the BioStru end product.

The technology can be applied to digested sludge to strip the digestate without chemical addition or struvite harvesting. Or it can be applied with magnesium chloride addition to treat digested sludge or digested sludge centrate, recovering struvite. A hybrid approach combines digestate stripping with struvite precipitation of centrate.
