China has approved a revised Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law, which will go into effect at the start of next year.

According to Chinese news agency Xinhua, the law, adopted by the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, requires cities with single water sources to set up alternatives for emergency and back-up purposes.
