Intelligent water and wastewater solutions and management systems provider Metito has announced a collaboration with Optiqua Technologies, a Dutch water quality monitoring development company, to distribute its new EventLab product through the Gulf Cooperation Council and key markets in Asia and Africa.

EventLab is a refractive index sensor that can detect the full spectrum of contaminants in water infrastructures and networks, even in minute quantities, Metito says, feeding the information back in real time.

The system detects toxins, chemicals organic agents, chemical warfare agents and pesticides among others, unlike sensors that are set to detect predetermined contaminants.

EventLab can be installed or retrofitted into an existing system to become an integral part of a ‘smart’ water network.
